Clinical Oral Health Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive oral examinations and interpret dental X-rays.
  • Diagnose and manage common oral and dental conditions.
  • Perform routine dental procedures like scaling, polishing, and simple non-surgical tooth extractions.
  • Apply temporary and permanent dental fillings.
  • Provide pain management and administer basic emergency oral healthcare.
  • Identify complicated dental conditions and refer patients appropriately.

Community Health & Preventive Care

  • Educate patients and the public on oral hygiene practices.
  • Participate in community outreach, including school health education and wellness camps.
  • Raise awareness about disease prevention and promote healthy oral hygiene.
  • Collaborate with local authorities to implement oral health policies.]

Clinic Operations & Compliance

  • Prepare, clean, and sterilize dental instruments before and after procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
  • Monitor dental supply inventories and report equipment needs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
  • Licensing: Valid registration and practicing license from relevant regulatory boards.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of post-internship clinical experience in a busy dental facility.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is an added advantage.
  • Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, excellent patient management, and proficiency in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS)
